- Oct. 28: There was definitely something within 1' of the predicted
position of the comet, and no group of stars brighter than m=16 on the DSS
at this position. Good sky, faintest star nearby of mag 15.2-15.4.
- Nov. 02: The comet is still very difficult ("3 sigma" detection), but
was right (within 15") at the predicted position, with no background stars as
seen from the DSS. About component D (cf. IAUC 7299), I cannot say either yes
or no, as I think I once suspected something in its direction, but did not
confirm/insisted on it (m1 >13).
- Nov. 27: Weather was a bit better than yesterday (less cirrus), and,
although there may have been a few 15-16th magnitude stars there,
component A seemed this time clearly more visible than D (rather diffuse),
elongated and more conmdensed (seen without problems).
