The Nix stellar occultation
of 21 June 2010

On 21 June 2010 around 21:00 UT (night of June 21st to June 22nd, 2010), Pluto's small satellite may occult a relatively bright star with Rmag~ 11.4. The even can last a few seconds at most.

J2000 position (Assafin et al, Rio de Janeiro group):
α= 18h 17mn 00.4270 sec
δ= -18d 14' 47.666"

The shadow moves from right to left, the larger red dot is geocentric C/A (corresponding to the time h:m:s UT given below the map) and small red dots are plotted every minute.
