PROTOPLANETARY WORLDS
AT THE ASTRONOMICAL UNIT SCALE

Optical interferometry has started to play a crucial role in the field of star formation. In particular, it offers a unique opportunity to observe protoplanetary disks at a spatial scale where planest may be forming. I will present a status of the most recent discoveries in this field putting the emphasis on the progress towards direct imaging of proto-planetary worlds at the astronomical unit scale.
