Presentation

Welcome !

I'm currently a postdoctoral researcher at SRON (Space Research Organization of the Netherlands), at the Earth and Planetary Sciences division located in Utrecht. I'm working on retrieving CO2 and CH4 concentration in the lower atmosphere, which are the two most abundant anthropogenic green house gases. In order to do this, I analyze spectra acquired by GOSAT in the short wave infrared. This project is part of ESA's Climate Change Initiative program.

I previously obtained a PhD in planetary sciences (defended in September 2010), where I worked at the LESIA laboratory, which is part of the Paris Observatory, under the supervision of Thierry Fouchet and Bruno Bézard. My research then focused on Saturn's stratosphere. I obtained 2D maps (with latitude and pressure ) of the temperature and of the abundance of 5 hydrocarbons from the analysis of Cassini/CIRS thermal infrared spectra.

In addition to my research activities, I was a teaching fellow at the Paris Observatory (2007-2010), where I gave lessons and tutorials in various fields of astrophysics and computer sciences for ~70 hours per year. I also actively participated in many public outreach activities.

My main interests are: Earth and planetary atmospheres, radiative transfer modelling, inverse processes, infrared spectroscopy, planetary sciences, public outreach.
