Predictions of stellar occultations
by Pluto and its satellites in 2008,
... plus some events by Triton, Quaoar and possibly others


Predictions below are based on catalogs specifically aimed at looking for stellar ocultations by various bodies of the solar system, see below.

Some catalogs were built by Raoul Behrend (Observatoire de Genève), based on frames taken at the 1.2-m Swiss telescope at ESO/La Silla, Chile. Others catalogs come from the Rio de Janeiro group (Marcelo Assafin, Robertos Vieira Martins et al.), based on observations made at the 1.6/0.6-m telescopes at Pico dos Dias (Brazil) and 2.2m ESO/La Silla, Chile.

A constant offset of -0.1 arsec and +0.06 arcsec in r.a. and dec. has been added to the DE413 ephemeris of Pluto/Charon system, as suggested by observations of stellar occultations made in 2007. Those offsets have been implemented to calculate the circumstances given in the lists below, and in the maps showing the shadow tracks of Pluto and its satellites.
