Abstract

Since 1995, more than 50 stars have been observed on six different baselines of the IOTA interferometer using single mode fibers for optical recombination. K band measurements have recently been extended to the thermal infrared through L band observations (3.4 to 4.1 microns). Main astrophysical results in K are the extension of the effective temperature scale of giants to types later than M6, the direct detection of photospheric pulsation and molecular scattering (Rleo), of assymetry (SW Vir), and the observation of circumstellar dust shells hot inner regions in L around RLeo and Mira. We review here some of these results and describe on-going upgrades.
