FINLAND

Ursa Astronomical Association is going to organise an event at its observatory in Helsinki city .
The Observatory of Ursa in Helsinki is located in a very beautiful  park in the heart of the city, so it ideally located to atract people who have decided to stay in the city. In case of an uncloudy weather, Ursa will let the visitors view the Sun through their telescopes between  noon and 3 pm. I hope the day will be a success.

Ursa has named June 10 the national "Sun Day" and they will market the event on their web site. We will also provide some web + mailing  list - marketing for this day.


FRANCE

Exhibition, conferences, observations and animation for kids. Also presence of the CNES, ESA, Universities and amateur astronomers. Opening between 13:00 and 19:00.

Nançay Radio Observatory

Laboratoire de Planétologie de Grenoble (LPG) and Laboratoire d'AstrOphysique de Grenoble (LAOG)

In Grenoble, the public will be hosted in an old XVIth century building in a famous hill of the city, “la Bastille”. There will be several exhibitions devoted to space and to the sun.

Depending on the weather conditions, some telescopes and coronados will allow solar observations. Several mini-conferences on the space environment will be given. We will make demonstrations of the Terrella experiment, which simulates the making of the auroras at Earth. This event will be supported by 2 local laboratories, the Laboratoire de Planétologie de Grenoble (LPG) and the Laboratoire d'AstrOphysique de Grenoble (LAOG).

The SVIRCO observatory for cosmic rays (Rome) will be opened to the public and will host special presentations on the heliophysical environment.

The University of L'Aquila and Consorzio Area di Ricerca in Astrogeofisica organize a public conference on the solar-terrestrial relationships.

The University of Rome “Tor Vergata” organizes observations and talks to the public .

The Catania Astrophysical Observatory will be opened to the public for solar observations and special conferences.

The Torino Astronomical Observatory will be opened to the public for solar observations and ad-hoc presentations.

The Astronomical Observatory of Capodimonte-Naples will be opened to the public with visits, observations and special conferences devoted to “the Sun and its role in the Universe”.

The University of Calabria organizes public conferences and solar spots observations open to the public.

The Astronomical Observatory of Bologna, in collaboration with other institutes, will organize a day devoted to the Sun with experiments, conferences and activities also for children.

Arcetri Observatory will organize conferences about the Sun;

 

SLOVAKIA

'Open doors' day at High Mountain Observatories Lomnicky stit and Skalnate Pleso operated by Astronomical Institute, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Tatranska Lomnica, (AI SAS). And June 23, 2007 as well.

'Open doors' day at Lomnicky stit Cosmic Ray Station operated by Institute of Experimental Physics, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Kosice

'Open doors' day at Hurbanovo, The Slovak Central Observatory (together with Planetarium), at Medzev, Michalovce, Levice and Rimavska Sobota, all operated as "Public Observatories".

There will be also lectures for local schools at Tatranska Lomnica around the June 10, 2007 (a week before and/or after).
