On several occasions, we have had the need to simulate light curves with characteristics
representative of what can be expected for CoRoT; e.g. several H&H exercises carried
out by the Data Analysis team.

We propose here such a simulator, which includes variations due to solar-like
oscillations, stellar granulation, stellar magnetic activity, and instrumental (photon) noise
as expected for CoRoT. At the moment, perturbations expected at the harmonics of the
orbital period have not been included but further versions of the package will include
such artifacts. Check this page regularly for these new versions.

The package contains an IDL routine, associated auxiliary files, and a README:

get  simuspec.tar.gz (~2.4M)

A contribution to the so-called "CoRoT Book" describes this simulator (V2.0). It can be
found in file simuLC.pdf

The figure below shows an example obtained for a 150-day-long time series for a mV = 8
1.50 Mo star, of age 2.4 Gyr. The power spectrum includes the different components of
the simulated signal: oscillations, granulation, magnetic activity. and photon noise.
